Bold Faith in Suffering: Why Paul and Silas Sang Out Loud Before God Opened the Prison Doors (Acts 16)
In today's Daily Hope, Pastor John S. Dickerson continues through Acts 16 with Paul and Silas, who are imprisoned in Philippi and singing and praying out loud. Pastor John shares a principle drawn from Scripture: the more boldly we claim God in our suffering, the more powerfully we may see him move. When the earthquake came and the prison doors flew open, every prisoner who had been listening to the gospel prayed and sung for hours knew that the God of Paul and Silas was real. He asks a challenging question: might there be miracles God is waiting to do in your life that are one song or one out loud prayer away? Whether it is a coworker, or someone beside you in a waiting room, bold faith can open doors for the gospel. This is never about hype or emotion, but about God's glory and the good of the people around us. The message closes with a prayer for the bold obedience of Paul and Silas.
