Everything You're Chasing Was Already Waiting for You With Jesus

In today's Daily Hope, Pastor John S. Dickerson continues the story of Peter from John 21. After a fruitless night of fishing, Peter jumps into the water the moment he realizes it's Jesus waiting on the shore. He's soaking wet, cold, hungry, and still carrying the shame of denying Jesus three times. But Jesus has already built a fire and already cooked him breakfast. Everything Peter had been working for out on the water was sitting there waiting for him in Jesus the whole time. Pastor Dickerson applies this directly to whatever we're chasing in our own lives: fulfillment, prestige, people's approval, image, or peace. He explains that we can chase those things in our own strength all night and never catch them, or we can run to Jesus like Peter did, not for what He can give us, but simply because we love Him, and discover that what we were looking for was there all along.
