Facing Opposition on Your Faith Journey? Here's Why That's Actually Normal

In today's Daily Hope, Pastor John S. Dickerson reminds us that real, lasting revival has never happened in a single emotional moment. Every great awakening in history, along with the revival under Nehemiah and the revival in the book of Acts, unfolded over decades of daily, unremarkable faithfulness, not one dramatic event. The exciting moments are the fruit of revival, not the root. The root is reviving your heart love for God, day after day. Pastor Dickerson then turns to Acts 16, introducing Paul, Silas, Timothy, and Luke on their way to pray, where they're confronted by a demon-possessed slave girl. He uses this to name three kinds of opposition that show up whenever people pursue real revival: spiritual opposition from the demonic, human opposition from outside the faith, and, often hardest to accept, opposition from within the church itself, even from fellow believers. If you've hit any of these while trying to grow closer to God, Pastor Dickerson's encouragement is simple: don't let it shake your faith. You're walking the same path as Paul, Nehemiah, and every leader of a lasting spiritual awakening. Text "DAILY" to 71093 to receive Daily Hope videos sent to your phone every day.
