Prayer of Surrender: When God Closes Doors and Redirects Your Plans (Acts 16:9-10)

In today's Daily Hope, Pastor John S. Dickerson speaks to anyone who has felt God close door after door on a plan they were sure was right, and invites listeners into a prayer of surrender. Continuing in Acts 16, he explains that after multiple closed doors Paul had a vision at Troas of a man from Macedonia pleading for help. Those closed doors were God redirecting Paul to the open doors He had already prepared, and in time that obedience reached a city and an entire continent. Pastor John then prays for all of us to have the faith of Paul to keep taking the next step when things do not unfold as we pictured, and to fit into God's plan for our lives even if it is very different than the one we would have chosen. It is a prayer in the spirit of Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane: not our will, but yours be done. Pray along and surrender today to the good works God has prepared for you.
