Praying for Unsaved Loved Ones: How One Ford Worker's Faith Changed Generations (Acts 16:32)
In today's Daily Hope, Pastor John S. Dickerson asks listeners to picture each person on their salvation prayer list coming to Christ, and then leading their family to Christ. He shares the story of his own family. His grandfather, working on a Ford assembly line in Michigan, heard about Jesus and became the first Christian in the family. He became a pastor and, over decades, led his siblings, parents, aunts, and uncles to Christ. Pastor John's father became a pastor, and all four sons walk with the Lord. In Acts chapter 16, verse 32, Paul and Silas share the word of the Lord with the jailer and everyone in his household, and they all respond. Pastor John clarifies that one person's faith does not automatically save a family, but everyone heard and everyone believed. He encourages praying with faith, urgency, and spiritual optimism, remembering George Muller, who said of those on his list who had not yet come to faith, I haven't seen it yet, but I will see it. He closes by encouraging us to pray for the households around the people we are praying for, and to remember that the book of Philippians grew from this one conversion.
