Should You Be Baptized Right Away After Believing? Acts 16:33
In today's Daily Hope, Pastor John S. Dickerson wraps up the story of the Philippian jailer in Acts 16:33. In the middle of the night, somewhere between two and four in the morning, the jailer cares for Paul and Silas by washing their wounds. Then he and everyone in his household are baptized immediately. Pastor John explains that there is good wisdom in making sure new believers are discipled and understand their decision, and that we should not be legalistic about timing. Yet in this passage, in the middle of a revival, a person believes and is baptized right away, a picture of going from darkness to light and from sin to salvation. Pastor John closes with an encouragement for anyone praying for friends and family to come to faith. Ask God to save them, and picture the day you might get to see them baptized. It can help you pray with fresh faith and emotion. Text "DAILY" to 71093 to receive Daily Hope videos sent to your phone every day. Download the CP+ Spiritual Fitness App for more.
