Life at Mary Graham Hall: A Temporary Children's Shelter
What happens when a hurting child decides he simply doesn’t care anymore? During my stay at Mary Graham Children’s Shelter, something changed in me. What began as following the rules gradually turned into defiance, anger, and rebellion. Alongside Fernando and Sam, I discovered that breaking rules could get me something I desperately wanted—attention. But there was a price. Looking back, I understand something I couldn’t see then: rebellion wasn’t freedom. It was a prison of my own making. And while others influenced me, the choices I made were ultimately my own. This is part of my story—but it’s also a warning and a lesson, especially for young people struggling with anger, rejection, broken homes, or the temptation to follow the wrong crowd.
