The Missing Poster With the Wrong Date

Thousands of missing-person posters are distributed after a young woman disappears, all repeating the same date she was supposedly last seen.

Years later, investigators discover that the date was deliberately wrong. That single altered detail redirected searches, protected an alibi, and kept attention away from the place where she had actually vanished.

A reminder that sometimes the most powerful lie is not a complicated story.

It is one wrong date repeated until everyone accepts it as fact.
