- This thing has now descended what is quickly becoming a persecution of Roman Catholics.

You see the people who are saying it and they are saying ti in that context. To make it sound like there is a Biblical basis for saying it. Jesus was a Jew. Jesus went to the cross willingly. He made that choice, it was not the Jews who killed Jesus. It was you and me. Jesus took on the punishment you and I deserve. The Romans did this, driving the nails, if you want to be precise. - What is going on with our leaders?
