Inside the Children of Thunder Cult.. Faith, Manipulation, and Murder

In 2000, Taylor Helzer, a former Mormon missionary who claimed to be a prophet chosen by God, created a small cult known as the Children of Thunder. Alongside his brother Justin and devoted follower Dawn Godman, he manipulated his followers with religious extremism, psychological conditioning, and promises of a divine mission before leading them into a series of brutal murders across California.

In this episode of You Can't Unhear, we examine the rise of Taylor Helzer, the influence of the Children of Thunder cult, the manipulation that transformed ordinary people into accomplices, and the shocking crimes that ultimately brought the group to an end.
