As anyone who has navigated Madison’s real estate market knows, finding affordable space is a real challenge. That’s doubly true for visual and performing artists seeking studio space. Artists not only have peculiar specifications for things like natural light, ventilation and high ceilings, but also typically have little money to pay for such amenities. In a hot real estate market, those factors often ice artists out. Roundhouse Studios, a project of the Arts and Literature Laboratory, seeks to fill that gap, with a 15,000 square feet of studio space on Madison’s north side. To celebrate the studio’s 1-year anniversary, the Arts Lit Lab is featuring the exhibit “Pulling Together: Work from Madison’s Roundhouse Studios.” Roundhouse artists Katie Hogan and Katherine Rosing joined Monday Buzz host Brian Standing on January 5, 2026.
