Open Records Shed New Light on Renee Good Killing

WORT 89.9FM Madison · Open Records Shed New Light on Renee Good Killing

On January 7, Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agent Jonathan Ross fatally shot Minneapolis resident Renee Good at the wheel of her vehicle.  The incident took place at a demonstration against ICE’s so-called “Operation Metrosurge” in front of dozens of witnesses in south Minneapolis.  Cell phone video footage from bystanders appears to show Good turning her vehicle away from Ross before Ross opens fire through the windshield of the car.  Nevertheless, federal officials, including Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and President Donald Trump continue to assert that Good attempted to hit Ross with her vehicle.  Now, new materials obtained through a freedom of information request sheds new light on the shooting.  Matt Ehling is an independent journalist, documentarian and legal observer and is the President of the Twin-Cities-based Forum for Constitutional Rights and Government Accountability. Matt joined Monday Buzz host Brian Standing on January 19, 2026.
