The mother of two young daughters, Markita is passionate about helping babies and young children identify with diverse characters and discover the joy of reading at a young age. Before embarking on her writing and publishing career, Markita worked in procurement, supply chain management, and marketing for several large corporations, including Ford Motor Company, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Illinois, United Airlines, and Adobe. She holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon University.
