Welcome to Episode 6.
OK…I’ve been doing this for 6 episodes now. At first it was pretty nerve wracking, but most of the jitters are gone now. Then someone like Mike Stromsoe agrees to join me on the show. I felt like a school girl. Mike is a guy I’ve been aware of for over 2 years but never spoken with directly. So forgive me if I am a little intimidated, nervous and anxious.
I could have had Mike on to discuss multiple things, but something stood out to me that I caught on his podcast (link below) about the amount of referrals his agency receives. He refers to them as “Acres of Diamonds”. A phrase coined by Russell Conwell and later picked up and made even more popular by Earl Nightingale.
Cross selling and referrals made up 88% of his agency’s new business in 2018. THIS is someone you want to learn from!
My 2 biggest takeaways from this interview are
1) If you get a referral from an existing client (or anyone for that matter) they are putting their reputation on the line. You MUST keep them informed of what happens and what is happening/happened with the referral they sent you.
2) “If you want to have more, you have to become more.” – Jim Rohn. “They want to see your heart and soul. Don’t be unfair, give it to them.” – Mike Stromsoe
