What is considered computer Software. What kinds and systems they run on. Software as relates to computers and some choices. Computer software, or simply software is any set of machine-readable instructions that directs a computer's processor or CPU to perform specific operations. Software can come from various sources. Commercial, Retail, Freeware, Shareware or OpenSource. I have selected my best choices in different categories and OS Operating System it should work on. Windows, Linux, Apple, Android and others... These choices are ALL Free and will give you just about every software you could ever need for daily computing. I have left off games as too many and I don't play any. Some also have donation or paid versions. The free versions work just fine for most cases, also if you use certain software frequently and it is OpenSource feel free to donate a couple bucks to there cause. That is what keeps independent sources producing excellent and useful software. Another thing is that most of these softwares come in various languages. Software Sources: - Commercial or sometimes payware, is computer software that is produced for sale or that serves commercial purposes. - Retail is on physical data storage media sold to end consumers, usually under restricted licenses (I.E. EULAs). - Freeware is available for use at no monetary cost, but with one or more restricted usage rights such as source code being withheld or redistribution prohibited. - Shareware is a type of proprietary software which is provided to users for a certain limited trial basis and pursuant to a license which restricts any commercial benefit, use or exploitation of the software. - OpenSource with its source code made available with a license in which the copyright holder provides the rights to study, change and distribute the software to anyone and for any purpose. Usually public or collaboratively developed. If you are regular listener to my podcast I would like to hear from you, get to know you and Welcome you to my HOME.
