EarthLED is a provider of XLEDIA LED lighting options for your home or apartment and that is a Low Tech devices. There like CFL bulbs that are Green and save energy. LED bulbs save even more. They can cost a little more but they will pay for themselves in just a few months of use. LED bulbs come in various sizes like any standard bulb, but they may be closer to standard bulb shapes than CFL ones. Not the curly shape that does not fit some fixtures or lamps. Most popular is the A-shape(Arbitrary) or A19 general service standard bulb size and base that is in most lighting of your home, this is likely the first form factor you think of when someone says "light bulb". The letters represent the shape of the bulb. The numbers represent the maximum diameter, either in 1⁄8 of an inch, or in millimeters, depending on the shape and the region. A19 bulbs typically come in outputs ranging from 20 watts up to 100 Watts in their incandescent forms. They can also come in directional or omni-directional bulbs, even shapes like florescent tubes. LED lights are great energy savings types and have a better brightness and efficient white light when compared to using an average 11W LED vs 15W CFL vs 100W Incandescent. Here is a comparison from the US Energy Department July 28, 2014 - 11:39pm: The table below compares a 60 watt (W) traditional incandescent with energy efficient bulbs that provide similar light levels. Comparisons between Traditional Incandescents, CFLs, and LEDs. 60W Incandescent 15W CFL 12W LED Energy $ Saved - ~75% ~75%-80% Annual Energy Cost* $4.80 $1.20 $1.00 Bulb Life 1000 hours 10,000 hours 25,000 hours *Based on 2 hrs/day of usage, an electricity rate of 11 cents per kilowatt-hour, shown in U.S. dollars. LED lights run cooler than CFL or Incandescent bulbs, have a longer lifespan, cost less to run, puts out more lumens per watt, do not require special disposal like CFL florescent bulbs or tubes and you will use less of them over your life. While the initial cost of buying LED’s is higher than other bulbs, they are becoming very affordable. Because LED bulbs are so much more efficient, and contain no toxic materials. I have switched over 2 homes that we have owned to ALL LED and have seen about $10 to $15 per month savings on our electric bill. I did this over time with changing out about 5 per month until ALL had been changed. The best source I have found for these is EarthLED.com and their XLEDIA line of bulbs. They have various other brands and pricing to choose from. Most have 3 years or longer limited manufacturer warranty, last and average of 40,000 to 50,000 hours. At an average of 2 hours per day that would be 50 to 60 years, meaning some bulbs in your home will never be changed again in your lifetime. EarthLED is very easy to order, get service and request warranty from. You can also purchase extended warranties, but what's the point with 50,000 hours. I also chose the 75W option to replace 60W bulbs as just a little brighter, helps when you get older. Since they only use 11 watts they are safe for fixtures that say no more than 60 watts per bulb maximum. I have not found any fixtures or lamps that will not fit these bulbs.
