Elders are the generations that still love Radio AM FM Internet Radio as entertainment. Younger generations are turning to more of Internet Radio or Podcasts with streaming instead of traditional over-the-air radio. Also traditional radio is going Internet or closing its doors. Going the way of newspapers. The only areas of traditional radio that seems to be growing is either Political or Religious radio. The younger generations are more into on-demand sources of entertainment. Look at the history of Radio and what was called a wireless reception from a transmitting station. You had radio shows, shortwave, music, weather, commercials and other forms. People sat around and listened with great pleasure before the invention of Television. These people have always loved plain old radio. Even when FM Radio came out which was suppose to be commercial free, regular radio survived. It is sort of an imagination thing where you just listen and feel like they are talking to you. Music is nice but stories and talk radio is how it is surviving. Look at how many talk radio shows exist. Even Podcasting is like someone talking to you. If you want to listen to AM/FM or Internet radio you can get this via the Internet by downloading or streaming. Even most terrestrial radio is available on the Internet today.
