TED #129 Podcast Extras – Bevy360

This is an interview with Dr. Aaron S. Crandall and Krishnan Gopalan two of the engineers and entrepreneurs that founded Bevy360. I first met Krishnan Gopalan at the Aging2.0 conferences in Seattle, WA when he did a product pitch. The name Bevy360 comes out of combining 360 (surrounding a senior with care from all directions) + bevy(many personas that will use the product). Bevy360 part of BehavioMetrics and based in Pullman, WA. Bevy360 founded to bring the IoT technology to Eldercare. The company is dedicated to helping people gracefully age in their own homes through a combination of technologies developed by internationally renown researchers. These systems bring together low profile and privacy sensitive sensors, machine learning algorithms, and stakeholder aware interfaces to communicate the needs of loved ones to their family and professional caregivers. This system is focused on bringing an Internet of Things technology approach to assisting people in their homes as they age. These technologies have been established through 8 years of research at WSU, and backed by significant contributions from health care companies. The results have been the most advanced machine learning and user experience capable systems for assisting families as their loved ones age at home. This is a very interesting interview that explains what their system is and why you may need it. I will continue to follow them and see how their system progresses. There is not much info on their website right now so the interview should fill in the blanks.
