At the end of the book of Bereishit, Jacob's life comes to an end. As Jacob moves to bless two of his grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph engage in what might be considered to be less than a smooth exchange. Then, when Jacob dies, Joseph's brothers consider their next move. Once again, the narrative presents some uncomfortable communication between the brothers.
