This week we talk about how we white girls mess up when we prioritize being 'nice' over justice especially when talking to people from marginalized communities. A few weeks ago eponymous Ellen spent a few hours sitting next to former president George W. Bush and got some backlash for hanging out with a war criminal. In response, Ellen defended herself by saying it was more important to be nice. We disagree. This is the first in our 3 part series about unpacking whiteness, white fragility, white feminism, and how white people can do better.
