02-26-17 – “Return of the King of King’s – Part 1” (Revelation 19) Revelation 19 – Return of the KING of Kings! Revelation 19:1-10 – “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God, 2 for true and just are his judgments. He has condemned the great prostitute who corrupted the earth by her adulteries. He has avenged on her the blood of his servants.” 3 And again they shouted, “Hallelujah! The smoke from her goes up for ever and ever.” 4 The twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God, who was seated on the throne. And they cried:“Amen, Hallelujah!” 5 Then a voice came from the throne, saying: “Praise our God, all you his servants, you who fear him, both great and small!” Revelation 19:6-8 NIV – 6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting: “Hallelujah! For our Lord God Almighty reigns. 7 Let us rejoice and be glad and give him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready. 8 Fine linen, bright and clean, was given her to wear.” The celebration, praise, rejoicing, and worship takes place not only because Babylon the Great is destroyed, but because it’s time for the “Wedding of the Lamb!” In Jewish Tradition, a wedding had three stages. * Betrothal: A formal contract between two families that was as binding as the marriage itself. If it was broken it required a divorce! Betrothed = Engagement. Mary – the Mother of Jesus was Bethrothed to Joseph. God sent Jesus, His life, death and resurrection, as the formal contract with the world… John 3:16. And when we accept God’s gift of eternal life in Christ, restoration in Christ we are Betrothed to Him! * Engagement Period: There’s a public announcement and an engagement period, usually a year. When you’re engaged you don’t keep that a secret! The Bride and the Groom spend the next year preparing for Marriage and their life together. When we accept Christ as our personal Savior and Lord our life, our lives are changed, transformed. We no longer live like we’re part of the world. WE belong to Christ! We prepare by: Surrendering our life to Him, Sacrificing our life for Him, Serving Him and Sharing with the world about Him… * The Bride groom comes for His Bride! He comes to get her for the marriage ceremony, the Wedding supper and then take her to their new Home to spend their life together! (The Wedding Supper could last a couple of days to a couple of weeks depending on how wealthy you were.) Jesus comes for His bride (The True Church) when the rapture takes place. He takes us to His Father’s House for the Wedding Ceremony and the Wedding Supper of the Lamb! The KING of Kings Returns! Revelation 19:11-21 NIV –11 I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war. 12 His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but He himself. 13 He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14 The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 Coming out of his mouth is a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. “He will rule them with an iron scepter.” He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16 On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written: king of kings and lord of lords. John sees the Lion now instead of the LAMB! He sees Christ as the Warrior, Conqueror, King and Ultimate Judge that He is… He’s GOD! He’s Faithful and True… The direct opposite of satan,
