03/26/17 – What Now? Now that we’ve been thru Revelation what should our Response be? Revelation 1:3 NIV – Blessed (happy) is the one who reads aloud the words of this prophecy, and blessed (happy) are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near. MOST people are searching, striving to be Blessed (Happy, Joyful) but they never find it! They’re looking to fill the emptiness and void in their life from things in the world… and they’ll never find it! 1 Peter 1:3-9 NCV – 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In God’s great mercy he has caused us to be born again into a living hope, because Jesus Christ rose from the dead. 4 Now we hope for the blessings God has for his children. These blessings, which cannot be destroyed or be spoiled or lose their beauty, are kept in heaven for you. 5 God’s power protects you through your faith until salvation is shown to you at the end of time. 6 This makes you very happy, even though now for a short time different kinds of troubles may make you sad. 7 These troubles come to prove that your faith is pure. This purity of faith is worth more than gold, which can be proved to be pure by fire but will ruin. But the purity of your faith will bring you praise and glory and honor when Jesus Christ is shown to you. 8 You have not seen Christ, but still you love him. You cannot see him now, but you believe in him. So you are filled with a joy that cannot be explained, a joy full of glory. 9 And you are receiving the goal of your faith—the salvation of your souls. It’s in our Relationship (Love) for Christ and the process of purifying our Faith that we begin to fill the emptiness and void and begin to experience REAL JOY! An unexplainable joy full of the glory of God! Our Relationship (love) for Christ, Faith in Christ and JOY are connected! Relationship (love) for Christ… Romans 5:8-11 NLT – 8 But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. 9 And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. 11 So now we can rejoice (great joy) in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God. Psalm 16:11 NCV – You will teach me how to live a holy life. Being with you will fill me with joy; at your right hand I will find pleasure forever. Psalm 71:23 NLT – I will shout for joy and sing your praises, for you have ransomed me. Psalm 97:11 NLT – Light shines on the godly, and joy on those whose hearts are right. The right Relationship brings the right “Perspective and Focus.” Romans 14:17 – The Kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. (Real Happiness and Joy is not in external things but what’s going on internally with my heart and who I’m living for!) Colossians 3:1-2 MSG – So if you’re serious about living this new resurrection life with Christ, act like it. Pursue the things over which Christ presides. Don’t shuffle along, eyes to the ground, absorbed with the things right in front of you. Look up, and be alert to what is going on around Christ—that’s where the action is. See things from His perspective. 3-4 Your old life is dead. Your new life, which is your real life—even though invisible to spectators—is with Christ in God. He is your life. Trust in God! Trust isn’t Faith… Trust is what you do with the faith you have! Trust is action… providing evidence of our Faith! Prov.
