The Road Map to Freedom. "The Bible, God’s Word - We Live It", JD Tew The Question we’ve been asking ourselves… “Is God’s Word R.E.A.L. in our life?” How does it become R.E.A.L.? * We READ IT? It has little to no impact and influence unless we READ IT! * We EVALUATE/EXAMINE It? If not, how do we know where we are and where we need to go! * We APPLY it! When a Truth is discovered we ACT on that TRUTH! Just like directions on a map, if we don’t follow it we will end up going the wrong way and LOST! Last week Bill shared about “Applying It.” Making God’s Word Practical and Personal in our life! There’s nothing more PRACTICAL and PERSONAL than Reading it, Evaluating it, and Applying in to our life! Applying It = We “DO” what God’s Word says! When we discover a TRUTH we ACT on what we’ve discovered! It’s simply Obedience! Today we’re on the last point… We LIVE IT! Isn’t Applying It and Living It the same thing? Yes and no. How can we LIVE IT! * MOTIVE - Our Motives don’t change until Christ is on the throne of our heart! As long as we’re on the throne, and we’re “god” in our life, our motives are going to be jacked up! IF I’M ON THE THRONE IT’S GOING TO BE “MY WILL BE DONE!” Motive is “why” we do what we do. It’s our Desire… or what drives us to do what we do. In Matthew 7 Jesus addressed the issue of Motive… Matthew 7:21-24 - 21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord! Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never knew you. Get away from me, you who break God’s laws.’ Key Phrase: “Only those who actually do the will of My Father in Heaven will enter.” (Motive is revealed by who’s “Will” is being followed and done.) * “LIVING” IT - Emphasis on “LIVING.” Not dead. There’s Activity. But what kind of Activity? Living isn’t just Living… Living is “LIVING “THE” LIFE THAT CHRIST DIED TO GIVE US!” We see Growth, Development, Maturity in Christ. Fruit of the Holy Spirit… Evidence of A LIFE being LIVED in Christ! The WILL of the Father being done! 1 John 5:12 - He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 2 Corinthians 4: 6-7 - 6 For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ. 7 We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves. Galatians 2:20 - My old self has been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. John 5:39-40 - 39 “You search the Scriptures because you think they give you eternal life. But the Scriptures point to me! 40 Yet you refuse to come to me to receive this life. John 14:6 – Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth,
