11-17-19 - "The Road to Freedom - The Journey Begins!" - Bill J.   Last week Henry brought a great Veterans Day message about Service.   The men and women of our military took an oath – signing a blank check up to and including their life – to serve and defend our country from enemies foreign and domestic.   As followers/disciples of Christ we are called to be faithful servants of the One we serve – signing a blank check – up to and including our life!   Technically, we die first to ourselves, Our will, our way, then we start to truly live, then our service is an act of worship!  [Gal 2:20]   We all serve somebody! Joshua 24:15a ~ But if you refuse to serve the LORD, then choose today whom you will serve... ...but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.   As followers of Christ, we are called to both serve and to lead...   Jesus said in Matt 20:28 that he came not to be served, but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.   Jesus modeled what Servant Leadership looks like for us to follow!   What comes first in your life, what your focus is on and what you’re willing to sacrifice for, identifies what or who you serve! Identifies what or who is your god!   Final week preaching through The Roadmap to Freedom.  Look back:   * Freedom: There is NO Freedom apart from Jesus Christ. * Biker: Our community and our focus to reach others for Jesus. * Church: Followers of Jesus Christ at Freedom, doing life together as disciples creating disciples; both at FBC & in other church plants as God opens opportunities. Disciples Making Disciple and Churches Making Churches * Making Disciples As We Do Life Together: Doing life together with an intentionality toward being like Jesus and teaching others to do the same by our actions and words. Surrender – Sacrifice – Serve – Share * Visible - Involved - Available - Friend: We will be visible, involved, available and a friend in our community.  We will introduce people to Jesus Christ because we want them to belong, believe, and become what God wants them to become. Acts 2:42 ~ 42 They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. * A Battle-Ready Brotherhood: In that we have sharpened each other with the Truth of God’s Word, we will be Strong in the Lord and His mighty power, able to stand against the devil’s schemes. * Gospel: The Good News of Jesus Christ.  God Created - Man Fell – God Rescued - Jesus Restored * Prayer & Worship: Prayer ~ Our always available, direct line and conversation with God. Worship ~ Is the Life We Live!  Our: Thoughts ~ Time ~ Talent ~ Treasure   Last week: * Bible: The Living Word of God, that we may Know Him and His Will for our life. R.E.A.D. = Read it ~ Evaluate it ~ Apply it ~ Live it!   To Live it... * Right Motives… Jesus is on the Throne! Jesus is GOD of my life not me. * Christ is ALIVE in me… There’s visible Growth, development, maturity in my life as I follow Christ!  We see evidence of the Fruit of the Spirit of God alive in me! * I’m Intentionally Transformed, into the image of Jesus Christ. Change is taking place and I am becoming more and more CHRIST-LIKE. * “I’m Doing Life Together!
