01-12-2020 – A Living Hope!  1 Peter 1:3-6 - 3 All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, (We have a living hope) 4 and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. 5 And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. 6 So be truly glad (or rejoice).  There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while.   Vs. 3 - All Praise to God the Father… it’s by HIS great mercy that we have been born again because God raised Jesus from the dead! Titus 3:4-7 - When God our Savior revealed his kindness and love, 5 he saved us, not because of the righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He washed away our sins, giving us a new birth and new life through the Holy Spirit. 6 He generously poured out the Spirit upon us through Jesus Christ our Savior. 7 Because of his grace he made us right in his sight and gave us confidence that we will inherit eternal life.   In Christ (God’s Method for our rescued, redemption, restoration), in Him our sins are paid for, there’s a new birth and we are New Creations in Jesus Christ, with His Spirit in us! John 3:3 - “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Ezekiel 36:26-27 – 26 And I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you. I will take out your stony, stubborn heart and give you a tender, responsive heart. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you so that you will follow my decrees and be careful to obey my regulations. Acts 2:8 – And Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.   Salvation isn’t a Knowledge of God, or of what God did.  Salvation is Repentance/Surrender to Him and a CHANGE/TRANSFORMATION through the Holy Spirit of God!   There’s a change in Heart, mind, soul, body… thinking.  In our Character and Conduct we see change!  Surrender to Christ, Sacrifice for Christ, Service for Christ, and Sharing our Faith in Christ.  We begin to grow, develop and mature in Christ to become more and more like Christ.   The Holy Spirit’s work and the change that takes place in us. * The Holy Spirit lives in us! We are the Temple of God!  1 Corinthians 3:16 * We’re “Marked, or Sealed” by the Holy Spirit of God. That one is mine!  1:13 * He gives us a new resurrected Life! In Christ, I’m made right with or justified with God! Romans 8:10-11 * He Speaks, revealing and guiding us into all Truth. God’s Word is Truth. Wants to teach us about Jesus and who Jesus is. John 16:13-15 * He teaches us and helps us remember the things the Lord commanded and that please the Lord. John 14:26 * He convict us of sin and righteousness. To Help us honor God. John 16:7-11 * He Guides, Directs, Leads… provides wisdom in how to live and please God. 1 Corinthians 2:10-11 * He gives us Power to live by Faith and be the Witness we need to be for Him, wherever we are. Acts 1:8 * He gives us Spiritual gifts to be used for God and His Kingdom. 1 Corinthians 12; Romans 12; Eph. 4 * Helps us pray when we don’t know what to pray for! (Intercedes for us. Romans 8:26-27 * He Sets us apart from the world… and allows us to produce fruit for God and God’s Kingdom. Galatians 5:16-25
