ITC#1: Stephen Keim on the Haneef case

In 2007, following failed terrorist attacks in the United Kingdom, Dr Mohammed Haneef (whose second cousin perpetrated an attack at Glasgow Airport) was arrested at Brisbane Airport. He was held and questioned for the better part of 2 weeks, charged with a terrorism-related offence, and bailed. Immediately his visa was cancelled. The charge against him was dropped, and he successfully challenged the decision of the Minister for Immigration. Stephen Keim SC, who represented Dr Haneef, discusses these events which dominated Australian public life for much of the second half of that year.
