In August of 2013, Rebecca Rogers shot and killed her husband, Jason, of 14 years 3 times - twice in the back, once in the head. She claimed she acted in self-defense. Amid strong public support and lack of a deep dive investigation, Rebecca eventually would plead guilty to manslaughter and serve less than 2 years in prison. The case was pretty open and shut...unless you watch her interrogation. After I listened to her recount her "harrowing" tale, I came away believing this lady got away with murder. There isn't very much in the way of information about this case...it wasn't even really dramatic enough to find its way onto an episode of Dateline or 20/20. And we are not going to be listening to the interrogation in any of these episodes. But there is so much to talk about when it comes to what Rebecca said that strongly points to this having been way more than a manslaughter case...to me, this was murder.
