Love & Misery Go Hand In Hand

Relationships can be Rewarding or Miserable. On the other hand they say Marriage is an institution, though for some, it can feel like a mental institution. As we celebrate Valentine’s month the real question is “Are you in love or in misery? Well whether you celebrate or don’t celebrate valentine’s day let’s face it, valentine’s day to many brings to surface several questions pertaining to your relationship and yes - it’s natural to feel like you’re going a little crazy when you start to question whether you are indeed in love or in misery. Don’t worry. Spending so much time in another human being's company will not necessarily result in bouts of temporary insanity. The key is to not let these moments of relationship or marital foolishness wreck what is otherwise a healthy and loving partnership with your spouse or significant other. The first step is to be aware that you’re not alone. All marriages are imperfect and most of them are imperfect in exactly the same ways. The list of marital problems you experience in a healthy marriage isn’t so long and most of them are pretty manageable. I have been a therapist for roughly 20 years now where I provide counseling to couples, singles, parents and teenagers, and in all the times I have met with couples married or dating there are certain problems that were recurring in all couples. In this segment I talk about the ten common problems I have seen presented by couples who seek counseling or coaching. * Sex * Chores * Weight gain * Having kids * Parenting * Infertility * In-laws * Buying a house * Finances * Boredom Taking care of these problems on a day to day basis will help you answer the question: Am I in love or in misery in a more enlightened way. Valentine’s Day is an everyday experience in small and bigger gestures and actions. To help you keep the fire burning join me on The Ultimate Couples Cruise to the Bahamas August 18-21, 2017 when we will have a couples conference at sea, with a variety of professionals who specialize in couples work.
