The Bully Victim Paradigm

A 22-year-old “madman” goes on a killing spree… is our society creating monsters, mass murderers who do so because they themselves are victims? Should we blame movies, video games, or the NRA? What separates the bully who terrorizes until their chosen victim commits suicide and the disturbed individual who uses a gun or a knife to kill?

A council meeting in California has a Mayor sounding off against bullies - “People just have to grow a pair and stick up for them damn selves,” says Mayor Cameron Hamilton. Bullying & Cyberbullying Educator Lissa Albert states: “The reason people are being bullied is because they are vulnerable so telling them to stand up for themselves isn’t going to work, it’s re-victimizing them by calling them weak.”
