In this episode of The Overgivers Anonymous Podcast, I want to talk to you about your future team. When hiring for or creating your team you need to look for more than the skills and the training a new person can bring. You need to look for somebody who is going to support you and your whole team. This can feel difficult if you’re not familiar with different personalities or connecting with people on that level. I have great tips for you to make life easier. Highlights: When you’re looking at adding somebody to your team it’s important that you can feel a level of connection and know you will be supported by this person. I believe that building a team is one of the major foundations of your success. It’s equally as important for you to have a person that you love spending time within these critical roles as it is for you to be mindful of who you are going to work with as clients. Sometimes in error, we hire somebody who is not a great fit personality, energy-wise or who simply has different expectations. We also need to ask ourselves questions such as the time frame of employment and what tasks they will be responsible for. When we have fun together we will support each other. If I’m having a bad day or when one of my team members is, we link arms and pull each other up. That’s powerful. That’s teamwork. When you’re putting together your team don’t just ask “does this person have the skills? Can this person work on their own?” You must include “can this person actually integrate with the rest of us? Will everybody continue to have a voice?” When all the pieces I discuss come together the most amazing team is created!.
