James and Krista Botsford have been sued by Enbridge, a multinational fossil fuel extraction company based in Canada., for refusing Enbridge access to their land for the purposes of building the Sandpiper Pipeline. The court in North Dakota has gone so far as to grant summary judgment without allowing the Botsford’s their day in court, so they have appealed. They have a GoFundMe campaign to support their Legal Defense Fund.
