Kaston Guffey and Nick Pankey are My Politic. With over a dozen albums under their belts, their new one is Missouri Folklore: Songs & Stories From Home, a collection of songs that explore the human condition in the geographical region from whence Guffey and Pankey hail.
The new record stands in sharp contrast to their previous record Short-Sighted People In Power which is a political powerhouse recorded during the Covid-19 lockdown.
The conversation explores the collaborative process of these life-long friends, and what the songs on Missouri Folklore: Songs & Stories From Home are about. Some are personal and some are more cinematic examinations of social phenomena.
