Winter Walking Skills Day - Adventure & Misadventure My day out on Meall nan Tarmachan with Willie Hill, an ex mountain rescue team leader, trying out walking in the snow with an ice axe and proper winter gear in the south corrie just below the summit. Some information on The Scottish Crannog Centre I can certainly recommend a visit. See the replica crannog which was a dwelling built on stilts in the loch during the Iron Age some 2,500 years ago. Archaeologists have made some remarkable finds on the loch floor including cooking utensils, clothing and the remains of an ancient boat. A great day out on the hill, even with man flu, but a rather painfully slow and protracted return journey home. Check out this great wee blog site. Katieallsort Kevin :)
