2026 August 07 - Rubin's COSMOS Field

In today's image, we see the COSMOS field which is being regularly studied by the Vera C Rubin Telescope in Chile. This is a region relatively empty of stars from our galaxy, but contains about half a million galaxies that astronomers are studying.
