Joshua was groomed by God through Moses to lead the children of Israel to inhabit the Promised Land. The first obstacle in their way across the Jordan River is the Canaanite city of Jericho, home of Rahab. Rahab is a prostitute who fears the God of the Israelites, like so many other of her people. But when given the opportunity by this God to save her family, she takes the radical step of faith to believe this God will save her and make her one of His own people. Joseph believed the LORD God and that He was a rewarder of those who diligently sought Him. And Joseph sought to please God all of his days, even when no one else knew the LORD, even when Joseph would be punished for obeying God, even when he was the second most powerful man in Egypt. And he sought to please God by choosing to forgive those who wronged him. He trusted God even knowing it would get worse before it got better. He even led others to trust God.
