Pinot Noir, paella, live music, and one of those Central Coast afternoons that just feels right.
On this episode of Up+Adam, Adam sits down with Barby Wunsch, Executive Director of Paso Robles Youth Arts, to talk about the return of Pinot & Paella happening June 7th at Templeton Park. They get into why this event has become such a staple over the last 21 years, the insane lineup of wineries and chefs this year, and how the festival directly supports arts education for local kids right here on the Central Coast.
But this conversation goes deeper than wine and food. Adam and Barby talk about why the arts matter so much for young people right now, especially in a post-COVID world where connection, confidence, and creative outlets are more important than ever. From music and theater to culinary arts and media programs, Paso Robles Youth Arts is giving kids a place to express themselves, build friendships, and discover what they’re capable of.
Also in this episode:
• Why Pinot Noir “opens a door” for wine lovers
• The chefs Adam is most excited about this year
• The new state-of-the-art culinary kitchen at PRYA
• Why nonprofits are feeling the squeeze more than ever
• Paella burritos… yes, really
• And why this event feels more like a community gathering than a fundraiser
