Robert Bateman is the world’s most famous, influential and beloved wildlife artist and the Bateman Centre (@batemancentre) featuring his work is only a few miles from home. I was told we couldn’t possibly afford to include any of his work in my new book Orcas Everywhere. And we couldn’t except… when I said the book was for kids I was told we could use one of his paintings, as long as we sent a few copies of the book to the Bateman Centre so young readers could learn more about orcas.
