Chris Lawson: The HMS “Shack” and the Sinking of the Church

Mary welcomes back apologist and author Chris Lawson to talk about a subject both had hoped would never come up again: the phenomenally successful The Shack. William Paul Young has done it again in publishing a sequel to his 25 million selling book that was never intended to go into the Christian book market. The new book, “Return to the Shack” must be vetted as thoroughly as the original. Problem is, the original was largely swallowed hook, line and sinker, much to the detriment of the church. The original was very much a Kodak moment in the church already. So what’s new if anything in this 2026 model? We talk about his theology, the doubling down of his unorthodox New Age flavored universalism, and look at how the church can take a stand against such postmodern, heretical drivel.
