Mixing Truth with Human Traditions?

We know the Bible is absolute truth, inerrant and sufficient for all we need to know about God and life. But the Pharisees were guilty of adding man-made doctrines and traditions and holding them up as if they were God's Word. Jesus chastised them strongly for doing so - to the point of calling them fools and hypocrites. If we are not diligent in reading and understanding the scriptures, the same thing can happen to us. Something that sounds good quietly gets elevated to the level of scripture, and it can lead us into trouble. We need to pray for more discernment!
