Spiritual Transformation or Spiritual Formation?

Words have meanings. When we try to replace God's definitions for the words He uses in the Bible with humanist definitions we can find ourselves on the path to deception and danger. One of the movements we must be knowledgeable about and take to the scriptures is "Spiritual Formation." It is being presented as a way for man to use "disciplines" to achieve holiness and intimacy with God. But does its teachings and methods align with, or contradict the Word of God? Pastor and Author Gary Gilley has written an excellent book called Out of Formation talking about the Spiritual Formation Movement and he joins us this morning to discuss it.
