Anyone can do good deeds. You don't have to be a Christian to have good works in life. But we do need the Holy Spirit to bear good fruit. What's the difference? Spiritual fruit. John chapter 15 is about believers abiding in the Vine in order to bear good, lasting fruit that glorifies God.
