Mary Danielsen: Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth

[Apologies for the late posting] On Tuesday’s edition of SUFTT, Mary takes a look at what it means to “rightly divide the Word” and warns of a 90+ year old movement that is rearing its head in the church. “Mid Acts Dispensationalism”, or “hyper-dispensationalism” is causing untold doctrinal damage in the church again, and reaping confusion and false hermeneutics – and the only thing it is “rightly dividing” is the brethren. We look first of all at some definitions; what is dispensationalism? Why is it considered the best historical/grammatical approach to understanding the bible? Then we look at the finer points of the “hyper-” or “ultra-” versions and compare. Once we understand what they really teach, if we are approached by a brother or sister who wants to know if we understand what it means to “rightly divide”, we won’t be sucked into this aberration of dispensationalism, and be caught with our discernment down. In addition, if one’s church is taken over by their aggressiveness, we will know how to approach that issue as well. Then we take a fresh look at “Red Letter” Christians, and the deeper problems with their approach to dividing the Word.
