Skype for Business, Filling the Gaps

by Gary Audin Are you thinking of deploying Microsoft’s Skype for Business (Skype4B) as your next corporate PBX? On its own, Skype for Business supports voice communications with a mix of UC offerings, but implementing the solution as a full or partial PBX replacement in the enterprise requires additional mission-critical applications. Many companies already use Skype4B for the rich unified communications offerings, including presence, instant messaging, and conferencing but there are functions you still want beyond Skype4B. Hardy Myers, CEO and President and Tom Minifie, CTO of AVST www.avst.com and Gary Audin discuss software solutions for Skype for Business (Skype4B) in this podcast recorded at the Enterprise Connect conference. Tom and Hardy discuss the reasons to add to the Skype4B platform. They cover interoperability issues and the migration to Skype4B. They point out that their solution is agnostic to the PBX platform used by the enterprise. Some of these and other points were presented by Tom at the conference, “Skype for Business in 600+ Retail Stores Lessons Learned in a Hyperscale Cloud Environment” http://my.presentations.techweb.com/events/arm/orlando/2017/free-education UC solutions should include flexible and secure unified messaging, speech-based call processing, contextually aware personal assistant, powerful UC mobile clients, and advanced notification and information access solutions that integrate with the databases of your organization. The broadest interoperability suite in the communications industry serves as the foundation of our best-of-breed UC solutions. By connecting new and existing communications technologies, AVST facilitates the migration of your enterprise to the Cloud, IP, and Microsoft Skype4B. AVST maintains relationships with virtually all of the major premise and cloud communications technology providers to ensure that your UC solutions and your business are always “future-proofed.”
