Enterprise Connect 2021 reflects communications challenges of our time, Podcast

“We serve the enterprise communications decision maker,” says Eric Krapf, General Manager and Program Co-Chair of Enterprise Connect. As the job titles of those decision makers have changed over the past thirty years, so too has the annual event, each year showcasing the largest players, but also offering a glimpse at the up and comers. It was at an Enterprise Connect event, not to long ago, that a new video conferencing company called Zoom first appeared at a 10 x 10. As we learn, this year Zoom is one of five companies offering keynoters. Over the past few days, like many September events, the conference announced that it would go virtual. In this podcast, we learn about how the virtual event will offer new opportunities for regular attendees to have new experiences. We also learn that this years virtual edition will mean access for thousands of enterprise UC professionals who otherwise might not have been able to attend because of non-Covid related travel freezes that companies often clamp on, even in normal years, or where travel has been restricted to only a narrow number of team members. Everyone can come to Enterprise Connect 2021. Krapf discusses show floor highlights and conference session content. This year, conferencing, contact center and related areas such as collaboration will be “super-hot”. People can attend sessions and tour the floor as they explore strategies to make it through the pandemic and plan for a post-pandemic, altered landscape of hybrid workforces, and the new ways workers and consumers will be using the communications services.
