Segment 3 - Adam Wainwright (02/17/16)

Adam Wainwright joins the show. Talks about calling into a Fantasy Baseball radio show after being picked low. Discusses how the game of baseball has changed, how guys used to throw complete games all the time. Wainwright says the National League needs to keep letting the pitchers hit. "It provides and opportunity for the game to be different, for styles to be different. It would be really sad (if MLB got rid of the DH). I think they're always trying to find ways to make it better. They must be talking to a lot of people who thinks that would be better for the game. I just love the strategy that comes behind being a part of a National League team." Waino discusses Matheny, says it was hard to see him not win the NL Manager of the Year last year. Hard to measure the manager's direct impact on success/failure. "They can only do so much." Says atmosphere in clubhouse under Matheny is similar to Tony LaRussa's. Lot of nitwittery. Still trying to get Matt Holliday on the show. Tim's so happy the listeners are sleeping together.
