Former Blues and Predators goaltender Chris Mason, now a Predators TV studio analyst in Nashville, called into The Ryan Kelley Morning After to give his thoughts on the Blues-Predators series that kicks off in St. Louis Wednesday night. Read some excerpts and listen to the full conversation below: Nashville excited for the Blues-Predators series? “It was quite the series and everybody in the city is buzzing. It’s going to be a great series with the Blues.” How do you see the series going? “I think it’s going to be a battle. They match-up really well against eachother. Historically they’ve played eachother tight. Especially with the level both goaltenders played in the first round, both teams were really solid defensively. I think we’re just going to see a see-saw battle here.” Looking at the Blues and Predators, which team do you think has the advantage? “It’s a tough one. They have different personnel. Nashville’s top four defensemen are really active and mobile on the offensive side of things. I think that’s going to be a challenge for the Blues. For Nashville, the challenge is going to be the Blues up the middle. I think defensively, St. Louis presents a real tough challenge for Nashville.”
