He’s a man of principle because he decided to forego lots of money guaranteed to chase his dream (and then test the free agency market later).” Do you think the Blues are in a rebuilding mode right now? “I don’t think the Blues are totally rebuilding. But some things have happened. It wouldv’e been tough to give David Backes the kind of money he got from the Bruins. You have to make tough decisions…Usually a team (that close to getting to the Stanley Cup Finals) tinkers a bit and tries to reload a little and make another run at it. But St. Louis has kind of gone a different route.”
