Author and CBS Sports and Sports Illustrated baseball writer Jonah Keri joined The Writers’ Block on Thursday to discuss some baseball topics and talk about his newest project. Read a couple excerpts and listen to the complete interview below: Talk about your new project: “I’m a man of the CBS company and I’ve been working on a show the last two weeks…it’s just me on camera for 22 minutes talking mostly baseball, some other sports, some social media shenanigans, lots of fun. Very unscripted. We think it’s a lot of fun. It’ll start off digital and we’ll see what happens from there. The same way they won 100 games last year and overachieved with runners in scoring position, their peripheral numbers indicated they weren’t that good of a team. They won a lot of one-run games. It was the opposite this year. They had a really good run differential…so we’re starting to see the positive regression occur. They are a good club, they have talent. I see this as a good club. Are they likely to pass the Cubs? Probably not. But can they make the playoffs and become a threat? Absolutely.
