Zen Talk #131- Out of Rhythm Partnerships, Screen time, Curfews, & Anxiety

Hi everybody,

  1. Check out this word cloud we created which is a summary of the topics that are asked most often in all of our Zen Talks. We have created a new resource library of previous Zen Talks. In this library you will be able to quickly find topics (sibling rivalry, anxiety, family dynamics) within previous Zen Talks that you are currently challenged by and immediately go to that time stamp in that specific Zen Talk and either listen or watch the Q & A between Cathy, myself, and the Team Member. I recorded a video explaining how to get access to it as well as how to use it. To take advantage of this resource, please email our operations manager Patrick McKenna @ pdmtzc@gmail.com and say that you’re on the Team and that you would like access to the Resource Library.
  2. Next Zen Talk #132 is scheduled for Monday, November 22nd @ 12:00 PM Central.
  3. Click here to catch the video of Zen Talk #130, or listen on the podcast app from your phone.

Keep on truckin’!

Baby wanted 12 lemons for the 12 lemon centerpiece
13:18:27 From Elaine Vaughan to Everyone:
And then it’s so important that person receives it well…I’m going for YOU…and that “you” needs to not be defensive or passive aggressive…”so don’t come” isn’t helpful.

13:37:07 From Daryn to Everyone:
Mom of two teenage boys. The sleep deprivation and worry on the weekend is real. I much prefer week nights now because of this. We ask them to set the home alarm when they come home. So that requires accountability.
13:37:57 From Millie Hsi (she, her, hers) to Everyone:
How great that your son WANTS to download to you when he comes home. That’s awesome.
13:41:14 From Todd Adams to Everyone:
assuming we have time, who wants to go after millie?
13:42:14 From Amber Taylor-Lucas to Everyone:
My son is the same way, Millie! Thank you for asking this question!
13:45:03 From Jenn Kovacs to Everyone:
His school social worker might be able to help dip his toe into therapy. At some parents urging, she is doing a small group for boys exhibiting anxiety and helping them process.
13:45:48 From Elaine Vaughan to Everyone:
As my guy has aged, I’ve learned to say very little…so he has to find the “reality” himself…when it’s always/never I know it’s a clue to be super quiet and just physically present…FEELS SO WEIRD…and works 99% of the time.
13:48:22 From Mary McDonough to Everyone:
If time, I’ve got a question. If not, that’s OK. 🙂
13:48:31 From Elaine Vaughan to Everyone:
Millie, I want to tell your guy when he is ready to hear it, that you are a ROCKSTAR…you advocate for him all the time and your love and devotion is so REAL…I’ve heard it for so long and always think he is so lucky to have you.
13:53:20 From Elaine Vaughan to Everyone:
Its the hardest thing EVER!!

14:00:11 From Elaine Vaughan to Everyone:
If you asked her “I want to support you when you text me…what do you want me to say to you when you text that to me?” That doesn’t translate well typing it…but with love and kindness…asking her…
