2 Corinthians 3:1-18 Paul, yes, believe it or not, continues to defend himself AGAIN; he compares the Old and New Covenant and does some solid theological explanations—that give us some of the best one-liners in the whole Bible! We will talk about REFERENCES and FREEDOM and end with a glorified look at the word GLORY!

Chapter 1:18-2:17 In this exciting episode St Paul defends himself AGAIN, we’ll dive into the concepts of Anointed, Sealed, and Guaranteed. He’ll write about the GLORY of the Lord, and the New Covenant. Paul will beg the Corinthians to forgive an unnamed man, and he will make some comparisons to the Roman Emperors and military leaders to show how JESUS is the true TRIUMPHANT KING!

2 Corinthians 1:1-17 The introduction to this passionate and personal letter of St Paul to the Peloponnesian Peninsula, trying to put together the puzzle and particulars of Paul’s predicament---(HA!) we’ll also spend some time looking at the theme of redemptive suffering and offering it up…

Chapter 15:29-16:24 Paul continues his explanation of the final judgement and the resurrection from the dead. He’ll discuss what the resurrected bodies will be… and he’ll talk about the collection going to help the Church in Jerusalem. Then we will follow St. Paul’s closing of his first letter to the Corinthians, his final salutations and his plans for connecting with this community in the days ahead.

Chapter 15:6-15:28 Paul continues talking about the resurrection from the dead. We’ll dig into some of the crazy theories that non-believers have come up with to explain away what happened to his body. Also Paul’s terrific illustration of Jesus being the First Fruits of the resurrection!

Chapters 14:35-15:11 We’ll start with a really clear image of the spiritual gifts under the authority of the Church, we’ll dig into the issue of "women not being allowed to speak in the assembly," and then little rabbit chase of the topic of male priests. Paul then begins the amazing and important topic of the Resurrection!

Chapter 14 Paul's continuing his long section on the gift of tongues, which flows into the whole matter of order in the assembly. He especially singles out the women. Hmmmm…wonder what that's about? We will focus on the Spiritual Gift of Prophecy, and we will take a couple of road trips along the way…

Chapter 13:4-13 The awesome chapter on LOVE continues; we will explore the Theology of the love between God the Son and God the Father, then St Paul dives deep into the specific Gift of Tongues. He will introduce the theological virtues, and he's going to be talking about how to regulate and rein in some of the more charismatic elements of the Corinthians.

Chapter 12:12-13:4 Paul's going to explain the purpose of the spiritual gifts, talk about the Body of Christ, we’ll take a brief side trip looking at our modern culture through this lens, and then St. Paul will list certain roles that use the spiritual gifts. And we will BEGIN the great song of Agape Love from Chapter 13!

1 Corinthians Chapter 12:1-11 After a peek at the very first century Sunday Worship, St. Paul is going to explain the purpose of the spiritual gifts (the charisms) and we’ll do a fairly deep dive into each one. What are they? What is their purpose? How do they work?

1 Corinthians 11:29-31 We will wrap up Chapter 11 with a deep dive into St. Paul's warning that the Corinthians should NOT receive the Eucharist unworthily. What is HIS context? What does the Church now teach about this? And if you are like me, you may have struggled with this a wee bit. How is anyone worthy? Isn't the Eucharist meant to feed us God's Grace? I'll share a very personal spiritual battle I have had with this teaching, and I pray you are satisfied with the conclusion!!

1 Corinthians Episode 11 11:25-29 We left off with Jesus saying THIS IS MY BODY and now THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD. We will talk about the New Covenant and New Testament, the Memorial and Anamnesis, we will dig deeper into the Real Presence of Jesus in Holy Communion, talk about the root of sacrifice and to cut a covenant, and we’ll end with the words of Jesus judging us for receiving unworthily….

1 Corinthians 11:17-24 For those of you who believe in the Real Presence of the Eucharist, you do not want to miss this episode! We will not get through very many verses today as we take a deep dive into Paul's words during the institution of the Lord's Supper. First we will look at the very first church gatherings: why was it on Sunday? Who were the presiders, who hosted, what did it look like? We will especially look at the phrase “this is my body.” What does it mean in English, in Greek, and ...

1 Corinthians 11:2-16 We’ll start off talking about the oral and written Traditions of Christianity, and a defense of the Catholic understanding of Sacred Tradition vs. the traditions of Men. Then we’ll follow Paul as he addresses what men and women are WEARING during public worship: veiling and what it meant then and what it means today, and we’llvgo into a deep dive on the dignity of women. This episode is DEEP with theology and I pray helps to understand a LOT of stuff!

Chapter 10 We’ll follow Paul through one of the best OT Bible Studies EVER as he demonstrates for us the way Christians should read the OT, including a cool Jewish legend about the rock in the desert. Then he’ll circle back around to the issue of eating animal offerings and worshipping false gods, and begin to link it with Christian worship—the Body and Blood of Jesus—Holy Communion!

1 Corinthians 7:12-9:27 We’ll continue with Chapter 7 and the detailed answer Paul gives to the questions about marriage, then we’ll see St. Paul answering questions about food that has been offered to Pagan Gods, he shares his technique of denying himself of things for the benefit of the weaker brothers and sisters to avoid scandal, he AGAIN defends himself, and shares that he is compelled to share the Good News of Christ Jesus!

1 Corinthians 6:12-7:11 Paul has been talking about sins in the Corinthian community, and being very clear that Christians must not allow sin—he charges them to judge those INSIDE but not those OUTSIDE. Today we will unpack that in great detail: Are we supposed to Judge? If so HOW??? We will also look at how he answers many questions the Corinthians are asking about marriage…

1 Corinthians 5:6 – 6:11 Physical description of St. Paul; Paul Continues with the topic of going to civil courts, which leads to a discussion how sin is like leaven in bread. What does he mean when he says we will judge the world and judge the angels? Then Paul gives one of his sin lists, and we’ll dive into the context and especially how certain sins especially harm the Temple of God.

1 CORINTHIANS Chapter 4:1-5:5 Today we will look at how we are each a temple of the Holy Spirit, there is no room for pride, being fools for Christ! We will also address “Call no man Father” and spend some time exploring the major moral crisis that needs a resolution, and Paul’s first major melt down ---whoah we get a glimpse of his temper! And to top it off, are Christians allowed to JUDGE other people? Paul is going to fiercely rock this boat !!

1 Corinthians 2:1—3:15 Paul continues talking about the cross, then the power of the Holy Spirit, then God’s wisdom rather than human wisdom, then being immature Christians who can’t handle solid food, then he mixes some farming metaphors with building metaphors!!

1 Corinthians 1:10-31 Division, cliques, parties, dissent in Corinth: those are the reasons Paul writes this letter. He emphasized UNITY in Christ and especially unity UNDER THE CROSS of Christ Jesus. We will look at the Sacrament of Baptism and the reality of a splintered Christianity, and a mind blowing reflection on the Cross

1 Corinthians 1:1-9. Today we’ll introduce St Paul and some of his credentials, look at the sin city of Corinth, focus in on the words APOSTLE and CHURCH and FELLOWSHIP, as well as some basic Christology—theology to understand Jesus Christ. We will also be unapologetically CATHOLIC as we unpack how Christ declares us righteous and justified.

JUDITH 11:1-13:20 We continue with Judith’s deception—or is it really? Holofernes throws a huge banquet, and then loses his head over this woman’s beauty! We’ll look at the morality of this story and dig a little deeper…
